wet tshirt contest
We were so excited. This is our animal welfare societies, from the cleaning of the dog rescue groups and pet-related vendors at outdoor venues, as well as walk the dog, was the third year was hosting a fund-raising activities include summer exhibits. And this was the first year that can combine with another shelter-sponsored event. Support from the community in terms of volunteers, donations (both cash and in kind) was more than we ever expected.

After months of planning and hard work, the day arrived. Unfortunately, there was a severe weather front. Sends a flying exhibition winds and thunderstorms were reported up to 60 mph ripped through the event. Since we were next to the county emergency management office, received word that there was a thunderstorm forecast for the west where we saw the tornado.

The first concern was the safety of everyone at the event. Volunteers, exhibitors, participants - many of the animals - was instructed to drive home hours before the bad weather was predicted to hit. If it was impossible, were directed to shelter before the storm because you can people safely out. After the worst of the storm threat passed, it rained ... a lot! Volunteer T-shirt for that event is a partner completely soaked. We improvised wet T contest had a good laugh shirt Course attendance, who were very disappointed. Foundation Coordinator, was practically in tears several other. Similarly, money and effort was essentially wasted. The good news is twisted several tents, material damage, except for people and animals are safe, that it was.
For me what was interesting weeks ago, I was the local zoo had been participating in the 5K run. On that day, too, high humidity, indicated by the threat of a typical summer storm in Chicago. In fact, part of the 10K run was completed, flooding the intersection began as heavy rain reduced visibility. Again, the more wet T-shirt.
